For my Scriptie I'm working on the topic of suspense building in films. I'm reading these two books now: Adrian Weibel, which is a highly theoretical approach dividing story and discourse level in the narration and analysing the differences between suspense, mystery and surprise on the account of hitchcocks films. the other is Patricia Highsmith (known for books like "The talented Mr. Ripley" or "Strangers on a train" (a book Hitchcock made a movie from).

the car

here we go, fixed my compression-issues (at least kind of, i hope it will continue working...), so you can watch the good ol swfs again...

next up...

another video-sketch, this time for a car brand. the idea is very simply: the family sits in a "car-like" setting in the living room, on the television is a road to be seen and finaly you see the environment rushing by the window. The key word I had in mind was "comfortable travelling"...

I call it... uhm... "mini-mercials"!

Halfway done with the first "mini-mercial", the quick-start first-attempts on making commercials. Done a little shooting on the second one today. Not everything is working yet, but these are just start-offs anyway, something to discuss and find the right way...

Start

The start of my new blog called photon - videoactivity. I'm working on my Endexam, which will be a close look on developing and producing commercials. To give it a quick start, I just grap a camera and tape some first ideas that come up while I think about commercials and about what kind of product/s I will choose to make a commercial for.

For the exam I will choose a product and a main-value that has to be conveyed to the audience. The commercial has to regard the image of the company and the target group. It should be a process starting from a broad range of ideas, pick a number of three to develop further and pick one idea from these three to produce the real thing.
